June 2020 Monthly Membeership Pack

By: Corey Baier Comments: 0

With June comes nicer weather. And with nicer weather comes time spent on the patio. And time spent on the patio calls for some cold crafty brews! So it makes sense, then, that we built you The Perfect Patio Pack. So here we go...

Float Along, The Establishment. Calgary, AB. Imperial New England IPA, 8.2%

That’s right folks, Float Along! No longer available. Anywhere. Except in your monthly Membeership Pack. This limited release had a tonne of hype and we wanted to get a hold of enough to include in our packs, so we’ve been silently hoarding this one away for you. This super hazy, pillowy-soft, juice bomb is generously hopped with Galaxy, Citra, Mosaic, Cashmere, and Simcoe hops that provide a nearly over-ripe-fruit mouth explosion. Be sure to let this one warm up a few degrees on your counter before devouring to ensure you get the full flavour experience. Pair this flavour bomb with a rack of barbecued ribs! Mmmm-Mmmm.

Staycation, Cabin Brewing. Calgary, AB. Fruited Berliner Weisse, 3.8% (Contains lactose)

Could this be the best sour beer Cabin has ever brewed?! In our opinion, YES! Jam-packed (pun intended) with so much fruit flavour, this one is a palate pleaser. We betcha can’t take just one sip! Both sweet and tart, this beer has notes of tart cherry, raspberry, red currant, black currant, blueberry AND blackberry. Sour haters rejoice, this is one approachable sour beer you can get behind. Pair this crafty brew with a good ol’ hearty Canadian Poutine and let the salt, sweet, and tart flavours have a party in your mouth.

Norwood, Four Winds Brewing. Vancouver, BC. Farmhouse Saison, 6.2%

Fermented with traditional Norwegian farmhouse yeast, Kveik, Nørwood is aged in oak barrels and conditioned with Brettanomyces. Hopped exclusively with Enigma and rounded out by Golden Naked Oats, this ale sings brightly with notes of citrus, pineapple, and a hint of Brett funk, while balanced by a pleasing mineral dryness. You’ll want to steam up some mussels with a fresh squeeze of lemon or toss up a buttery shrimp scampi to enhance the funky flavours in this beer.

Pontificato, SYC Brewing. Edmonton, AB. Italian Pilsner, 4.9%

Earthy, spicy noble hops provide pleasant aromas of flowers and citrus fruit supported by classic Pilsner malt. This is a patio crusher that pairs perfectly with artisan pizza and the assertive bitterness will keep you coming back for more. What more can be said about this beer? It’s classic, it’s clean…and Corey LOVES this beer!

Cocolat Toasted Coconut Chocolate Stout, Andina Brewing. Vancouver, BC. Stout 5.5%

This dark and rich oatmeal stout is loaded with toasted coconut and cocoa nibs and it is tough to keep on our shelves. Chocolatey, creamy, and silky from the oatmeal, this is a dark beer that even dark-beer-haters would love. Grab a two-bite brownie to go alongside this one and overindulge in the chocolatey flavours.

Lemon Lavender Radler, Yukon Brewing. Whitehorse, YK. Radler 3.0%

Oh. My. Goodness. This Radler is straight up delicious, and at 3%, you can crush a lot of these on the patio. Yukon Brewing infused an ale with a lemonade that was kettled with dried lavender, resulting in a slightly tart, light-bodied beer with a touch of floral lavender at the finish. Pair this little beauty with anything your heart desires. But ensure it includes sunshine and a patio.
