Stephane Vedeau is the proprietor/winemaker behind critical darling Les Fermes du Mont. In 2010, Vedeau added Clos Bellane from the Côtes du Rhône-Village Valreas to his portfolio. Valreas is the northernmost of the Village level Côtes du Rhônes and Stephane's vineyards sit above 400 meters. This cooler climate and higher exposition lead to bright and vibrant Rhône wines that challenge the notion of big and jammy southern French reds. These are fresh, fruit-filled, and harmoniously balanced wines. The Petite Bellane is young-vine Syrah produced using native yeasts, no SO2 during fermentation and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
